Ingredients
Base
- 1 soft wheat tortilla, about 10 inches (25 cm) in diameter
- 1 tsp cornstarch
Wet Ingredients
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) milk
- 4 eggs
Fillings
- 2 oz (55 g) white ham, diced
- 1/2 cup (50 g) sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 1/2 cup (15 g) baby spinach, chopped
- 1/4 cup (60 g) store-bought grilled bell peppers, drained, patted dry, and diced
- 1 green onion, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Prepare the Springform Pan and Tortilla: Place the soft wheat tortilla inside a springform pan, shaping it to fit snugly against the bottom and sides to create a quiche crust.
- Mix Cornstarch and Wet Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cornstarch, milk, and eggs thoroughly until completely combined. The cornstarch will help absorb excess moisture for clean quiche slices.
- Add Fillings: Incorporate the diced white ham, grated cheddar cheese, chopped baby spinach, diced grilled bell peppers, and thinly sliced green onion into the egg mixture, stirring gently to distribute evenly.
- Pour Mixture into Tortilla Base: Pour the prepared egg and filling mixture evenly over the tortilla in the springform pan, ensuring the ingredients are well spread.
- Cook in Air Fryer: Place the springform pan into the air fryer basket. Set the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and cook for approximately 22 minutes, or until the quiche is set and lightly golden on top.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the pan carefully from the air fryer and allow the quiche to cool slightly before releasing the springform pan edges. Slice into portions and serve warm.
Notes
- Ensure the grilled bell peppers are well drained and patted dry to avoid sogginess in the quiche.
- A springform pan is essential to easily remove the quiche without disturbing its shape.
- Adjust vegetables and cheese based on preference for variations.
- Letting the quiche rest for a few minutes before slicing improves the texture and slice stability.
