Ingredients
Slider Mixture
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup finely chopped white onion
Big Mac Sauce
- 2/3 cup mayonnaise
- 2 1/2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Assembly and Topping
- 12 slider buns (Hawaiian rolls or other slider buns)
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- 9 slices American cheese
- 24-30 dill pickle slices
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
Instructions
- Prepare the Big Mac Sauce: In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, sugar, yellow mustard, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated. Refrigerate the sauce for at least 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- Season the Ground Beef: In a large mixing bowl, gently mix the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and chopped white onion. Be careful not to overwork the meat to keep the sliders tender.
- Form the Patties: Divide the beef mixture into 12 equal portions. Shape each into thin, round patties slightly larger than the slider buns to allow for shrinkage during cooking.
- Cook the Patties: Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes per side or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C). Place a slice of American cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt slightly.
- Toast the Slider Buns: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush the tops of the slider buns with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Arrange buns on commercial half sheets or baking trays and bake for about 5 minutes or until lightly toasted.
- Assemble the Sliders: Spread a generous amount of the Big Mac sauce on the bottom halves of the toasted buns. Add shredded lettuce, one cheese-topped beef patty, 2-3 dill pickle slices, and then cover with the top halves of the buns.
- Serve: Arrange the sliders on a serving platter and serve immediately while warm. These sliders are great for game day or any party occasion.
Notes
- For best flavor, prepare the Big Mac sauce ahead of time and refrigerate for at least 10 minutes.
- Do not overwork the beef mixture to keep the slider patties tender and juicy.
- Adjust cooking time if thinner or thicker patties are made to ensure food safety and desired doneness.
- Slider buns other than Hawaiian rolls can be used if preferred, but Hawaiian rolls add a nice sweetness that complements the sauce.
- Optionally, add extra onions or cheese varieties as per taste preferences.
