Brazilian Lemonade is a refreshingly creamy and tangy blended drink made with tart limes, sweet condensed milk, coconut milk, and ice. This frosty beverage balances the zest of fresh limes with the richness of sweetened condensed milk and the subtle tropical flavor of coconut milk, creating a unique and delicious treat perfect for warm days.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Limes

  • 4 limes, divided

Liquids

  • 2 cups cold water
  • 15 oz unsweetened coconut milk (optional)
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk

Other

  • 3 cups ice

Instructions

  1. Prepare Limes: Quarter 3 of the limes, reserving the fourth lime for garnish. Add the lime quarters to a blender along with 2 cups of cold water.
  2. Blend and Strain: Blitz the lime and water mixture for 20 seconds in the blender, then strain the liquid over a pitcher, discarding the lime solids. This creates a tart lime water base.
  3. Blend with Sweetened Condensed Milk and Ice: Pour the strained lime water back into the blender. Add the sweetened condensed milk and 3 cups of ice. Blend until the mixture is smooth and frothy.
  4. Mix in Coconut Milk: Pour the blended mixture into a pitcher, then stir in the unsweetened coconut milk. Stirring rather than blending the coconut milk prevents the drink from becoming overly foamy.
  5. Serve: Serve the Brazilian lemonade immediately over additional ice if desired. Garnish with thin rings of the reserved lime. If not consuming right away, refrigerate and stir again before serving.

Notes

  • Traditionally this lemonade uses 4 cups of water, but this recipe uses 2 cups of water plus 15 ounces of unsweetened coconut milk to add a richer flavor and creamier texture.
  • If you prefer a less creamy version, omit the coconut milk and use 4 cups of water instead.
  • Serve immediately for the best frothy texture, but it can be refrigerated for later consumption—just stir before serving.
