Ingredients
Dough
- 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough
- Optional: pizza dough, divided into 8-10 portions
Filling
- 8 ounces softened cream cheese
- ½ cup Alfredo sauce
- ½ cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
- 2–3 cloves minced fresh garlic
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Optional: ½ cup cooked shredded chicken or finely crumbled cooked beef
Topping
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- Optional extra Parmesan cheese for sprinkling
Instructions
- Prepare the Filling: In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, Alfredo sauce, finely grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning. Mix thoroughly until smooth. If adding cooked chicken or beef, gently fold it into the mixture now.
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking.
- Shape the Dough: Separate the biscuit dough into individual pieces. On a lightly floured surface, gently flatten each biscuit into a 3-4 inch round. If using pizza dough, divide it into 8-10 equal portions and flatten accordingly.
- Fill and Seal Bread Bombs: Place a generous tablespoon of the Alfredo mixture in the center of each flattened dough. Fold the edges over the filling, pinching them firmly at the top to enclose completely. Roll gently between your palms to smooth into a ball.
- Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place each assembled bread bomb seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1-2 inches apart to allow room for rising.
- Prepare Butter Topping: Melt unsalted butter in a small bowl, stir in garlic powder and grated Parmesan cheese. Brush this mixture generously over the tops and sides of each bread bomb. Sprinkle extra Parmesan cheese over if desired.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the bread bombs are golden brown, puffed up, and the filling is hot and gooey inside.
- Serve: Allow bread bombs to cool for 1-2 minutes before serving warm. Serve with extra Alfredo sauce or marinara sauce for dipping if desired.
Notes
- For added protein, fold in cooked shredded chicken or crumbled beef into the filling.
- Use pizza dough instead of biscuit dough for a larger, chewier bread bomb variant.
- Ensure dough seams are sealed tightly to prevent filling leakage during baking.
- Serve immediately for best taste and texture; bread bombs are best enjoyed warm.
- Leftover bread bombs can be reheated in the oven to regain crispness.
