Fried Pickle Ranch Dip combines the irresistible flavor of fried pickles into a creamy and savory dip. Made with finely chopped dill pickles, homemade ranch seasoning, fresh garlic and herbs, sour cream, cream cheese, and toasted panko breadcrumbs, this dip is perfect for serving with chips, pretzels, or veggies. It’s a flavorful, crowd-pleasing appetizer ideal for parties or casual snacking.

  • Total Time: 2 hrs 26 mins
  • Yield: 3 cups (serves 16 at 3 tablespoons each)

Ingredients

Dip Base

  • 12 ounces whipped cream cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream

Pickles and Herbs

  • 1 cup dill pickle, finely chopped, plus more for garnish
  • 3 tablespoons ranch seasoning
  • 3 cloves garlic, freshly grated
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped, plus some for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely snipped, plus some for garnish

Seasonings

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (from 1/2 a lemon), freshly squeezed

Crunchy Topping

  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Toast Panko Breadcrumbs: Add the panko breadcrumbs to a dry skillet and heat over medium-low heat. Stir occasionally until the breadcrumbs are golden brown and fragrant, about 4-6 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. Reserve 1 tablespoon of the toasted panko for garnish.
  2. Mix Dip Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the whipped cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Add the finely chopped dill pickles, ranch seasoning, freshly grated garlic, chopped dill, snipped chives, onion powder, kosher salt to taste, and freshly ground black pepper. Squeeze in the fresh lemon juice and stir well to blend all flavors evenly.
  3. Incorporate Toasted Panko: Add the toasted panko breadcrumbs (except the reserved tablespoon) to the dip mixture and fold gently until well combined. This adds a delicate crunch and depth of flavor to the creamy dip.
  4. Chill the Dip: Cover the bowl tightly and refrigerate the dip for at least 2 hours or overnight. This resting period allows the flavors to meld and develop fully, resulting in a more flavorful dip.
  5. Serve and Garnish: Transfer the chilled dip to a shallow serving bowl. Garnish the top with the reserved finely chopped dill pickles, toasted panko breadcrumbs, and fresh herbs such as dill and chives. Serve with your favorite wavy chips, pretzel thins, or fresh vegetables. You can also use the dip as a sandwich or wrap spread.
