Ingredients
Fudge Base
- 2/3 cup evaporated milk
- 3/4 cup butter
- 3 cups granulated sugar
Mix-ins
- 7 oz marshmallow fluff
- 12 oz white chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cup M&M’s, divided
Instructions
- Prepare the sugar mixture: In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, butter, and evaporated milk. Heat over medium heat, stirring continuously until the mixture reaches a rolling boil. Continue boiling for about 3 minutes or until the temperature reaches 234º F (soft ball stage). You can calibrate the thermometer or test the mixture by dropping a small spoonful into cold water; it should form a soft ball.
- Add chocolate and marshmallow: Remove the saucepan from heat. Immediately add the white chocolate chips and marshmallow fluff. Stir vigorously until the mixture is smooth and fully combined. Then stir in the vanilla extract for flavor enhancement.
- Incorporate M&M’s: Fold in 1 cup of the M&M’s gently into the fudge mixture to distribute candies evenly without crushing them.
- Set in pan: Pour the fudge mixture into a prepared pan (lined with parchment or greased). Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of M&M’s on top and gently press them into the surface for visual appeal and added texture.
- Allow to harden: Let the fudge set at room temperature until hardened, approximately 90 minutes. Once firm, cut into 36 pieces and serve.
Notes
- Use a candy thermometer to ensure proper temperature for the perfect fudge texture.
- Line the pan with parchment paper for easier removal of fudge.
- You can substitute the vanilla extract with other flavorings like almond or peppermint for variety.
- Store fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or refrigerate for longer freshness.
