Ingredients
For the Brownies
- 1 box Brownie Mix (opt for a homemade recipe if desired)
- Water, oil, and eggs as required by brownie mix package instructions
For the Kabob Assembly
- 1 pint Fresh Strawberries, hulled and rinsed
- 1 cup Marshmallows (can substitute with bananas or angel food cake)
- 10 pieces Wooden Skewers
For the Drizzle
- 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (dark chocolate can be used for a healthier alternative)
Instructions
- Prepare the Brownies: Preheat your oven according to the brownie mix package instructions, usually to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix with the required water, oil, and eggs as directed. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before cutting into squares.
- Prepare Strawberries: Rinse fresh strawberries thoroughly under cold water. Remove the green tops (hulling) and pat them dry with paper towels to ensure they are not wet for assembly.
- Assemble the Kabobs: Thread onto each wooden skewer a brownie square, followed by a strawberry, then a marshmallow. Repeat this pattern until the skewer is filled but leaving some space at the bottom for holding.
- Melt the Chocolate: Place semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in short 20–30 second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth, about 1 to 2 minutes total.
- Drizzle or Dip the Kabobs: Either dip the top half of each assembled kabob into the melted chocolate or drizzle the chocolate over them evenly. Place the finished kabobs onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper to catch any drips.
- Set the Chocolate: Refrigerate the kabobs for 10 to 15 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden and set. Once set, arrange the kabobs on a serving platter or display in decorative jars for a charming presentation.
Notes
- Ensure brownies are fully cooled before cutting to avoid crumbling when assembling.
- If you prefer, substitute marshmallows with slices of banana or pieces of angel food cake for a different flavor and texture.
- For a healthier chocolate option, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
- Use fresh strawberries for the best flavor and to avoid moisture making the brownies soggy.
- Wooden skewers should be soaked in water for 10 minutes before use to prevent burning, if you decide to toast or grill later.
